The cascading wall of molten chocolate in this store is a cool optical trick. We visited two Venchi shops in Firenze, and also saw one at Rome airport. Evidently, they have a well-established corporate identity throughout Italy.
Everyone raves about their gelati. It was good, but I can't eat gelato every day. Their chocolate bonbons, OTOH, are irresistable. Having a bowl of these in your house is dangerous. Ridiculously expensive, but maybe the best chocolate I've evefr had, and a lot of fun in the store to fill a bag with handfuls of your favorites from the dozens of huge bins which line the wall.

Who doesn't love a chocolate wall!? We visited Venchi for some gelato on our last night in Venice. You can choose several flavors all in one regular sized cup or cone, so that was nice to be able to try multiple flavors! We did 3: caramel, chocolate, and then a chocolate with hazelnut chocolatey pieces. The last flavor was the most delicious one. Not only do they have gelato, but they have all kinds of chocolates and truffles too. We loaded up on truffles to bring back to our friends as gifts from our trip abroad. This is a chain and we visited one in Venice too.

The first of many Venchi's I saw in Florence, and one of the best gelatos I had throughout my trip where I indulged in 1-2 gelatos a day!
Minus one star as the workers are a bit snooty, definitely not service with a smile. The caramel and milk flavors were my favorite! Their chocolate bars are super decadent too! -

With 5 million gelaterias in a single city block, it's hard to choose which one to go to! I was hesitant about this one because I noticed it's a chain, but sometimes chains exist for a reason: they're amazing and everyone wants it!
The decor is charming and the waterfall looks like decadent, melting chocolate, which is fitting given that's what it smells like inside!
The staff was just as sweet as the gelato and man, it was to die for! Try the mascarpone fig flavor! -

Fell in love with Venchi while in Italy. The piccolo size is perfect if you are wanting to satisfy your gelato craving and still enjoy dinner. You can choose two flavors - my favorites are pistachio and nougatine!
